I remember being so excited when my mom gave me a flower bed of my own and let me plant whatever I chose. I think it was mostly zinnias and salvia. It's still magical to me that big plants and flowers really come from tiny seeds!
I let Ella and Maddie each chose a flower they liked and we made rows just for them in the garden. They have been asking frequently when we could finally plant their flowers, and Saturday was the day!
Maddie made a row of marigolds along the edge of the garden.
Ella's morning glory vine (not the weed!) will hopefully climb a trellis and produce beautiful pink and purple cup shaped flowers.
We got most of our garden in as well. The basil and oregano starts I bought from my neighbor were ready to go.
This is the new extension of our garden. You're looking at our future pumpkin and melon patch and corn rows. I've never done corn, so I'm kind of excited!
Here's the rest of the garden. We have yet to get tomatoes and peppers in.
The spinach and peas have sprouted. Yay for gardening season!
